Investment Strategy
The Fund’s authorized members/investment adviser (i.e., the Manager) makes investment decisions based principally on trend and volatility analysis available to the firm through proprietary research and modeling systems, including advanced charting software and market momentum indicators. The Manager will primarily utilize a proprietary day trading and swing trading strategy based upon an algorithm of momentum-based indicators and volatility studies. The proprietary software used is TradeTrend and will aid in decision making for entries and exits.
Outline of the TradeTrend Momentum Indicator
TradeTrend© helps traders stay on the right side of the market and momentum for both long and short positions using daily and
intra-day time frames.
Momentum trading is a technique in which traders make decisions according to the strength of recent price trends. Price momentum in trading is similar to momentum in physics, where mass multiplied by velocity determines the likelihood that an object will continue on its path. The basic premise is that as an asset is traded, the velocity of the price movement approaches a maximum as new investors enter that asset near peak prices. As demand and money flow into the asset decreases, the tendency is for the price trend to reverse direction. Similar principles apply for momentum continuations.
Executive Bio
Jeff Tompkins is the founder and creator of the TradeTrend© signal software and currently serves as President and Chief Investment Strategist of The Trading Profit, LLC. TradeTrend© provides entry and exit signals for stocks, futures and FOREX using a proprietary formula created by Mr. Tompkins. Jeff has used this algorithm, among others, to successfully trade stocks, options and futures since 1999. Over the years he has developed an arsenal of highly tested trading strategies, which have remained effective regardless of market conditions
Jeff has a BS in Finance from Santa Clara University with a focus in financial markets, and successfully completed a trader internship with Morgan Stanley. Jeff’s successful career led him to create The Trading Profit, LLC in order to help others achieve financial freedom through consistent and profitable trading strategies.
Mr. Tompkins has appeared at prestigious trading events and been featured as an expert speaker at The International Trader's Expo, The MoneyShow, Wealth365, InvestorExpos and Trader's Talk Live. Jeff has published numerous ebooks, trading newsletters and online courses focused on equity and options strategies, and has a following of over 20,000 students in 100+ countries accross the globe. He has also been recognized as a top trading instructor on the online learning platform Udemy.com.
In January 2020 Mr. Tompkins launched the Altos Fund, a hedge fund which deploys equity and options strategies he has designed to outperform the markets.
